The client company is an important Italian malthouse.

Situation prior to intervention
Drying towers are used for drying the malt with a heat recovery unit consisting of glass tube heat exchangers. This system represents the sectorial baseline.

Proposed solution and post-intervention situation
The intervention identified consists in the replacement of the glass tubes exchangers with new aluminum tube bundle recuperators for preheating the fresh air. In order to account for the savings, a measurement system with remote reading of the data is installed. Following the intervention, the customer benefits from an energy saving of around 300 toe / year, or equal to the supply of around 1000 TEE / year for five years.
